LetMeTalk: A Free AAC Talker App for Communication
LetMeTalk is a free AAC talker app that aims to provide a voice to everyone, supporting communication in all areas of life. This app enables users to line up images in a meaningful way, allowing them to read the row of images as a sentence. It utilizes AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) to facilitate communication.
One of the key features of LetMeTalk is its extensive image database, which includes more than 9,000 easy-to-understand images from ARASAAC. In addition to the pre-existing images, users can also add their own images from their device or take new photos using the built-in camera.
What sets LetMeTalk apart is its offline functionality. It does not require an internet connection or mobile contract, making it suitable for use in various settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, and schools. This app is particularly useful for individuals with autism symptoms, aphasia, speech apraxia, articulation/phonological disorder, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Motor Neuron Disease (MND), cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome.
LetMeTalk offers a range of features to enhance user experience, including voice support for both images and sentences, unlimited and flexible creation of new categories, and the ability to save and share profiles. The app also supports multiple languages, allowing users to switch between languages and use LetMeTalk as a translator.
Supported languages include English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Chinese, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, Arabic, Russian, Polish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Galician, Catalan, and Basque.
